An Easter prayer from the Taize community (in English and Arabic)

In English:

We praise you, Christ Jesus.

The light of your face, the light of the resurrection shines in our heart and in the very darkness of humanity.

We entrust to you those who are suffering from the consequences of natural disasters,

and also those who are seeking justice and are victims of violence across the world.

In the face of suffering and death we are speechless. But in looking towards you, Christ,

the trust of faith can be born and reborn in us.

The gift of your Easter joy gives us the courage to hope once again, rooted in God’s own faithfulness towards us.

Below is this same prayer, transcribed from Arabic:

Nahnu numajjiduka ya yasua almasih. Du’ wajhika, du’ ulqiama yushi’u fi qulubina wa yasta’u fi thalamulbashariya.

Nada’u fi ‘uhdatika ‘ula’ika allathina yu’anun min ‘awaqibi lkawarith
