A Taize Eucharistic Prayer

Special Taize Eucharistic prayer.

The Lord be with you

And also with you

Lift up your hearts

We lift them to the Lord

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

It is right to give Him thanks and praise

With all the breath within and around us we lift to
you our thanksgiving, adoration and Praise. You are the Eternal Wisdom and the
Wellsprings of Faith; the hope of all our longings who create us in your image
to reflect your glory.

In Jesus Christ, you embodied our unprotected flesh,
being born as human. You laboured with us upon the cross, and have brought us
forth to the hope of resurrection. Through choosing to Love, you call us to
simplicity of heart; making us a pilgrim people of peace and reconciliation.

Therefore, with the vast expanse of time and space
present at creation,

With the heavenly beings who sing your unending
praises;

with the woman who gave you birth; the saints you draw
to yourself both present and past;

and with the Holy Spirit who weaves us together in
bonds of love, we praise you forever saying:

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord

      God of power and might

      Heaven and earth are full of your Glory.

      Hosanna in the highest.

      Blessed is The One who comes in the name
of the Lord,

      Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is Jesus, our brother and friend; who earnestly desire to eat with his companions
the Passover of freedom and reconciliation.   Who, on the night he was betrayed, took bread
and gave you thanks. He broke it, gave it to his followers and said: “This is my
body, it is offered for you and all humanity so that sins may be forgiven. Do
this in remembrance of me”

In the same way after supper, he also took the cup and
said: “This is the cup of the new covenant, in it will be the fullness of life;
and in it’s light you shall see true light. When you drink this, you do it in
remembrance of me.”

So we proclaim the mystery of our faith

Christ has died

Christ has risen

Christ will come again.

Therefore, as we eat this bread and drink this cup, we
proclaim Christ’s’ death until he comes. In the body broken and the blood
outpoured, we offer to God our limitations and fears, knowing that God longs to
take; bless and break us; and to multiply our simple trust and faith into his
provision and blessing.

With whom, and in whom, and through whom, by the power
of the Holy Spirit, with all who stand before you in heaven and on earth we
worship you in songs of everlasting praise.
Blessing and Honour and Glory and Power be yours, forever and ever,
Amen.

As Christ as taught us, we are bold to say… Our Father….
